Editorial submission guidelines PDF Print E-mail

Our main aim, here at Steps, is to inform and an important part of this is to allow our website members an opportunity to share information from their own area of expertise.  In this way, we get a wide and varied range of topics and quality content for the website's readership and our members get an opportunity to promote what they do and why they do it.
Our email newsletter
Members who have a Silver, Gold or Platinum listing with us (link) are welcome to submit an article for our email newsletter, which goes out to nearly 6,000 people on a monthly basis.  We have three articles per edition and spaces usually fill up fast so if you have something to submit, please read the guidelines below and let us have your editorial as soon as possible as we have to operate on a first come, first serve basis.  We can then check it and let you know when it will be published.
But that's not all
You then have the option to publish your article on our website, with a link to your profile, giving your business more exposure.
We also publish to several health and wellness article websites as well as some general interest sites on a weekly basis and your article may be chosen for this and as this includes a link to your profile again, that's even more exposure.  There is no additional cost for this, we're just grateful to have professionals writing and sharing their knowledge on behalf of Steps.  If you would like to know where we are currently publishing material, please contact us.
Guidelines
For the email newsletter:
Please provide an informative and if possible topical article related to your area of expertise of no more than 600 words but no less than 500.  We are sorry that we have to be so exact but it is necessary.  You should also submit an introduction which acts as a taster of no more than 70 words - this should be an initial paragraph that will be part of the email newsletter with a link to draw the reader back to the main body of your article which is housed on the website.
A really good way of getting your article read is to also provide a related image, which should be no more than 200x200 pixels.  If you have any problems reducing the size of your image, please contact us.
For the website:
Guidelines as above but there is more flexibility with the word count.
For article submission websites:
We publish all articles under the name of Steps and if you would like to submit some editorial, you would come under our writing team.  Many of these sites have different and strict criteria for publishing so we may have to edit material accordingly but we will let you know beforehand.  There is often an author biography box so if you could include a paragraph about you and your experience, we may be able to use this and we will also include a link to your profile on our website to make sure readers are directed back to you should they want to find out more.
It does sound a bit fiddly but give us a call or drop us an email if you would like to know more but it's a great source of free publicity so it is well worth the effort.
At Steps, we aim to publish good quality, non offensive and authorative information, so We do reserve the right to publish or not publish, edit and if necessary withdraw editorial but please speak to us first if you have any queries or concerns as to suitability.
