PANTS on Sho
Beautiful Blue Bella underwear causes a stir for local charity PANTS.
Steps to Wellness were happy to support an evening for local-based charity PANTS on Thursday 12th August at the Quayside, Falmouth. The purpose of the evening was to raise money and awareness for the charity as well as giving the public an opportunity to buy gorgeous Blue Bella underwear from local consultant Sara Parry who brought along not just a rail of beautiful clothes but also two brave models.
You don't have to spend more than a few minutes with Jeannette Preston, PANTS founder, to understand just how passionate she is about her cause. The Falmouth-based charity aims to raise awareness amongst all age groups about cancers that affect the pants area in both men and women. 'Read this' her website states 'if you do nothing else take 30 seconds to read this. It could save a life' and that’s how simple but life changing her message is. ‘Events like this are great’ she commented on the evening ‘not only can we use this evening to raise awareness but following cancer, things like this are important to help people to rediscover their self confidence and sexuality’, something that Sara Parry went on to endorse: ‘this has been absolutely brilliant for PANTS and we’ve been delighted with the response we’ve had so far, everyone has been really positive. We raised £71.10 for PANTS, not bad for a "couple of hours" down the local!’.
The models, Tiffany and Charlotte Coll wore a number of outfits from the Blue Bella Spring/Summer range and later in the evening were invited to go outside into the mild summer evening to mingle with the crowd. Charlotte who is herself a trainee cytoscreener and a part of the important cancer screening process commented that although the evening was fun it was also so important to impress upon women not to shy away from having their smear ‘everyone needs to come along, it’s so simple but so important’ she added.
PANTS are the charity of the year for Steps (www.stepstowellness.co.uk) so Jason was also there to lend his support. ‘The PANTS cause and the Blue Bella underwear go together so well’ he said ‘and as we are all about wellness, fitness and feeling great about life, the two were a perfect match on this perfect evening’.
Steps, Blue Bella and of course PANTS are indebted to the businesses in Falmouth who so generously gave prizes for the prize draw on the evening as well as David Tong our security and Michael Etherington, our photographer for the evening.
